Pupil Premium

Pupil premium is a Government initiative designed to narrow the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their more economically advantaged peers. The additional funding is to ensure they make good progress and achieve the expected attainment.

The children who fall into this category are those who:

  • are or have been eligible for free school meals within the last six years (Go to the Government Website for free school meal qualification criteria)

  • have parents are currently serving in the armed forces

  • are currently in care

  • have been adopted from care or leave care under a special guardianship or residence order.

The school plans how to spend the allocated funding each year, to maximise the progress and attainment for these pupils. The impact of these interventions are analysed at the end of each academic year in order to adapt the plan for the future.
