We have enjoyed a week dedicated to skipping techniques and fitness. It was wonderful to welcome Lee from Skip-hop to Goldfield to introduce us to new skipping techiniques and routines and WOW our children have really impressed us with their enthusiasm, energy and ability to learn new things.
Please scroll down to view photographs from the day and be amazed at the skills the children have learned. Video clips follow which really capture the children's trust and eagerness to try something new.
Safety first, each session began with the safety rules.
First, point your thumbs up, this is the grip to use when holding the handles of the skipping rope. When you are skipping it is important to bounce on your toes, this is to protect your back. Get into the correct starting position, hold the skipping rope, place your hands onto your hips then move your hands forward.
Make sure you have plenty of room in front and behind you. Check, look over your shoulder make sure you have enough space then you are ready to skip!
