Holly & Horse Chestnut visit College Lake Environmental Education Centre

What a fantastic day we had as we enjoyed stories, games and sensory outdoor exploration. Not to mention a teddy bears picnic in the woods! Discovering the four secrets of life that enable all animals to survive was very interesting. We also created a new home for our bears to inhabit and had a wonderful time investigating the natural world.

We had to put our bears in a special basket, hopefully we will see them later for a teddy bears picnic!

When we arrived we listened to a story about how the bears lived in the woods. One bear called 'Edward Bear' wrote a letter and set us a challenge to find out what bears need to survive?

Insects and humans love these scented plants. Have a sniff, which is your favourite?

To help your sense of smell 'Edward Bear' has left these sponges they have magical powers.

If you dab the damp sponges on plants then put them up to your nose your sense of smell will be stonger.

We were given a colour sample and set out to look for a colour match in the sensory nature trail.
