African Artefacts

What is an artefact? An artefact is something made by human beings!

One of our wonderful Mums shared her collection of African Artefacts with Year 2. When she was a little girl she lived in Kenya. Her toys were handmade and have become family treasures. Please scroll down to enjoy photographs of some of the beautiful artefacts she bought in including a selection of Kangas and Kikoys which we are wearing in the photograph above. Kangas are worn by ladies and traditionally have writing on them. Kikoys are worn by men and have tassels and striped patterns. Can you tell which are the Kangas and which are the Kikoys?
