On Monday 27th April 1965, 50 years ago, Goldfield Infants School opened its doors to pupils for the first time. Today we have had a ceremony to raise a special celebratory flag (1 of a several designed by the children) and talk about that moment all those years ago. This term there will be other events to celebrate the opening for the whole school community.

Headteacher's Log Books
We are fortunate to have the oringinal Headteacher Log Books dating back to 1875 from the school that moved into this new building, these log books continued to be a requirement until very recently. Three of the diaries will be on display in a special cabinet in the library from today including the 1965 diary which details the opening ceremony. You are welcome to pop in, when you collect your child from school, and read these diaries which will show the entry for each day until the end of term.
Goldfield Gazette 1965
