The Curriculum Director of Key to Learning is Galina Dolya, an acknowledged world leading expert in the application of Vygotsky’s theory of learning and development. She is part of the Russian Academy of Education in Moscow, but is currently based in the UK. We were delighted that Galina held a parent presentation at Goldfield to explain the programme and the transformational thinking behind it.
Our goal at Goldfield is to foster a love of learning and develop enthusiastic, independent learners. We aim to empower the children to be involved in their own progress and know the goals and targets that they are working to achieve. This vision of education is emulated within the work of Lev Vygotsky a Russian theorist who believed that true education is not just the learning of specific skills and knowledge, it is the development of children’s learning abilities – the capacity to think clearly and creatively, plan and implement their plans and communicate their findings in a variety of ways.
